When Chhouk was discovered as an orphan in Cambodia, he was severely malnourished and had lost his front foot because of a poacher's snare. His chances of surviving in the wild appeared incredibly small.
Instead of giving up, rescuers and veterinarians developed a prosthetic solution that would allow him to walk more naturally. As he grew, his prosthetic foot could be replaced to accommodate his changing body.
Today, Chhouk's story stands as a remarkable example of what veterinary care and determination can achieve. A calf that once struggled simply to survive learned to walk, explore, and thrive.
